June 23, 2026
Amazon Prime Day 2026 is here, running June 23 through 26 — and this year it landed early. It's the first time the event has been held in June since 2021, and at four days long, it's also one of the longest Prime Days yet. That's a lot of runway, and a lot of "deals" that aren't really deals.
That's where Treeline comes in. Between Liz and me, we've hiked the Triple Crown and spent the better part of two decades putting gear through real abuse — wet PCT mornings, high-elevation Colorado nights, thousands of trail miles per season. So when we comb through Prime Day, we're not chasing the biggest percentage-off badge. We're flagging the packs, shells, sleep systems, shoes, and dog gear we've tested ourselves and would genuinely recommend to a friend at this price.
If it's not actually a good price, it won't make this list — Prime Day badge or not. We'll be updating throughout the event as new deals drop (sometimes every few minutes), so check back.
(You'll need a Prime membership to grab most of them; a free 30-day trial covers the whole event.)

FAQ
When is Amazon Prime Day 2026?
Amazon Prime Day 2026 runs four days, from Tuesday, June 23 through Friday, June 26. Deals started at 12:01 a.m. PDT on June 23. This is earlier than the usual July timing — the first time Amazon has held the event in June since 2021.
Is Prime Day actually worth it for outdoor gear?
Sometimes. Outdoor gear discounts on Prime Day tend to be hit-or-miss compared to dedicated retailer sales like REI's Anniversary Sale. The strongest categories are usually electronics-adjacent gear (headlamps, GPS units, camp lighting), accessories, and dog gear. For technical apparel and big-ticket items like tents and sleeping bags, it's worth comparing against the brand's own site and REI before you buy. Everything we recommend here, we've already price-checked.
Do I need a Prime membership to get the deals?
Yes. Prime Day deals are exclusive to Prime members. Membership is $14.99/month or $139/year, and new members can start a 30-day free trial — enough to cover the whole event. Students and adults 18–24 can get a six-month free trial, then $7.49/month, and qualifying government-assistance recipients can join for $6.99/month after a free trial.
How do you choose which deals to include?
We only recommend gear we've personally tested on trail, then we verify the price is genuinely good. We use price-history tools to confirm a deal isn't just a marked-up "list price," and we cross-check against the brand's site and other retailers. If the discount isn't real, it doesn't make our list.
When is the next Amazon sale if I miss Prime Day?
Amazon typically runs a second event, Prime Big Deal Days (sometimes called Fall Prime Day), in early-to-mid October. Dates for 2026 haven't been announced yet. For outdoor gear specifically, REI's seasonal sales are often a better bet than Prime Day, so it's worth waiting if nothing here grabs you.
