Our verdict

The Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress is designed for travelers who want the support and comfort of athletic wear in a stylish, versatile dress. With a built-in shelf bra, cinchable hems, deep hand pockets, a zippered back pocket, and a durable, flowy skirt, this dress is great for travel days, commuting, walking, light hiking, and everyday wear around town.

I tested the Limitless Midi Dress in the late spring while traveling around Arizona and Nevada, and around my home in Denver, on walks and running errands. I packed it on flights, and wore it while driving a campervan, working at my desk, and walking around the city and the desert.

This dress is comfortable, with a soft, sporty top and flowy skirt. It’s cute and also easy to layer with jackets or sweaters when the weather gets chilly. And while the price may be a little high for some, this dress is well made and durable, so it should last many years as a wardrobe staple. The built-in shelf bra offers enough support for smaller busts during low to moderate-intensity activity, like walking and light hiking. The cinchable hem is helpful when climbing stairs or crossing shallow water. Plus, Title Nine is a woman-owned brand that supports other women-owned brands.

Sizing can be an issue for some, especially for those with larger busts. This can be mitigated by sizing up, though that may change the fit of the rest of the dress. I also wouldn’t recommend this dress for high-output activities, as the flowy skirt can be cumbersome and isn’t as lightweight and breathable as hiking-specific dresses we’ve tested.

However, if you’re looking for a midi (or knee-length) dress that is stylish, sporty up top and flowy beneath the waist, and durable enough for long-term wear or travel, the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress is worth considering.

What we liked

We like how easy the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress is to cinch up the skirt hems for walking up stairs.

We like how easy it is to cinch up the skirt hems for walking up stairs.

Fitted top feels comfortable and sporty while the relaxed skirt makes the dress cute and easy to style

  • Durable materials and construction make this a quality dress that should last a long time

  • Cinchable hem is convenient for climbing stairs and more active movement

  • Title Nine is a women-owned brand

What could be better

  • Shelf bra isn’t the best fit or most supportive for everyone; fit/sizing in general can be tricky for different bodies, especially larger busts

  • Fabric can wrinkle easily; wrinkling mostly comes out after it’s been hanging for awhile, but still can be inconvenient

  • Limited size range (only XS-XL, no plus sizes)

  • Removable cups shift around easily and can look funny if out of place

How we tested

Woman wearing the Title Nine Limitless Mid Dress out in nature

I tested the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress while traveling on the road in Arizona and Nevada (which included crewing the Cocodona 250 ultramarathon), as well as casually around town in Colorado. I packed this dress in a travel backpack for flights, and wore this dress while driving/traveling, working at a desk, walking around Denver, and light hiking in Arizona forests and deserts.

Testing occurred over the spring months, primarily when the weather was warmer, since it’s a sleeveless dress. However, I also layered jackets over the dress when it got chilly.

For sizing reference, I am 5’ 4”, have about a 33-inch bust, and tested in my usual dress size, size small (4). I also tested this dress alongside dresses in our Best Hiking Dresses and Skirts guide, comparing comfort, performance, durability, fit, movement, packability, and more.

Performance in the field

All-day comfort and wearability

The Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress is comfortable, with a fitted top that transitions at the waistline to a flowy skirt. The fitted top felt comfortable, but I felt it would have been more flattering if it were a little tighter on me (i.e., if I were chestier, I might have found the top more flattering). I may have been able to go down a size to solve that, but in general, the dress fits true to size.

However, it’s worth noting that many customer reviews on the site describe the fit as running small, especially in the bust. So, if you have a bigger bust, you may want to size up; if you have a smaller bust, you can likely go with your usual size or even size down. You could try wearing it with a bra if you have a smaller bust and want to fill out the dress more, but because of the shape of the back straps and already-existing shelf bra, that likely wouldn’t be super comfortable.

The upside of this dress not being too tight is that it's comfortable for all-day wear. Whether I was sitting in an air-conditioned camper van or walking in the hot Arizona desert, the dress felt breathable and soft while feeling like it’s made from quality, durable fabric. The fabric is also thick and not see through at all, so you can feel confident wearing it anywhere.

Built-in bra support in practice

The removable cups on the Title Nine Limitless Mid Dress can shift out of place or look a little lumpy, requiring some adjusting when you first put the dress on.

The removable cups can shift out of place or look a little lumpy, requiring some adjusting when you first put the dress on.

In general, I love the built-in bra because it means not having to find a bra with the right shape to wear underneath. It’s convenient and comfortable. My only issue is that it fits a little looser than I’d prefer, as someone who wears A cups, but it wasn’t so off as to deter me from wearing it. And the top, while stretchy, does not stretch out during wear, but offers consistent support.

Because the bra's fit isn’t all that snug, I wouldn’t wear this for high-impact activities (but this dress isn’t intended for those anyway). It’s plenty secure for walking, light hiking, and travel.

The built-in shelf bra has removable cups, which is great for those who want them and those who would prefer to remove them. Since the top fit a little looser on me than I would have liked, I kept the cups in to fill out the dress a little more. They do move around easily in the shelf bra and can look funny if out of place, so that can take some adjusting every time you put it on. They can migrate up into the tank straps, which happened when I washed the dress. It’s not a big deal, but it can be a pain to dig in and fish it out. Nevertheless, this is why we recommend removing the cups before washing the dress.

Movement and mobility

Cinching up the hem on the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress helps to make it easier walking up the stairs.

Cinching up the hem helps to make it easier walking up the stairs.

The skirt is plenty loose for excellent range of motion, and the dress has cinchable hems so you can scrunch it up with drawcords on each side to hike up the dress. This can be useful if you want to hike in shallow water, walk up stairs, or if you just like the look. This does not limit movement in any noticeable way, though again, we wouldn’t necessarily recommend this dress for high-intensity activities.

Packability and travel performance

Back zippered pocket for stowing small items.

While this dress is comfortable and cute for travel, it is on the bulky side compared to other travel dresses we’ve tested. It doesn’t pack down small and is not particularly lightweight. It can also get wrinkly when packed down, so you’ll want to hang it before wearing.

One nice travel-centric feature is a convenient zippered pocket in the back at the waistline just above the skirt, which is handy for stashing smaller items like ID, credit cards, or Chapstick.

Durability

Though its bulkier weight can be a drawback for packability, this dress is durable and feels high-quality in its weight. The polyester/elastane fabric of the top and the nylon/spandex fabric of the skirt, along with the overall construction, have held up well while traveling, and I haven’t noticed any pilling, fading, ripping, or wear. This also means it’s a good value for the price, since it should last you a long time.

Features

Fitted sporty top with shelf bra built in

The fitted top is made from 68% recycled polyester and 32% elastane. It has a built-in shelf bra with removable soft cups. The top feels softer and stretchier than the skirt.

Breezy woven skirt

The skirt of the dress is made from 90% nylon and 10% spandex with PFC-free Durable Water Repellent (DWR). Choosing apparel that is PFC-free is important for the environment. It’s heavier and a little more coarse in feel than the top.

Cinchable hem

The drawcord for the cinchable hem on the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress is inside the hand pockets for easy access.

The drawcord for the cinchable hem is inside the hand pockets for easy access.

The skirt has cinchable hems on both side seams so you can pin up the hem of the dress. The drawcords are inside the hand pockets, so cinching up the hem is easy.

Pockets

The hand pockets are deep and stretchy. We had no issues storing keys and our phone in them, and would only worry about them falling out if we were doing anything other than casual walking.

The hand pockets are deep and stretchy. We had no issues storing keys and our phone in them, and would only worry about them falling out if we were doing anything other than casual walking.

The Limitless Midi Dress has two drop-in hand pockets and one small zippered pocket at the back just above the skirt hem. The hand pockets are deep enough for a phone, though not secure if moving around a lot (secure enough for normal walking, though).

Sizing

The Limitless dress is available in sizes XS-XL. The length of the dress is 46.5” from the top of the shoulder to the bottom hem.

Colorways

The Limitless Midi comes in four colors: forest berry (pink top/purple skirt), juniper green, voyage (navy blue), and black.

Sustainability/ethics

This dress is made from 68% recycled polyester in the top.

Title Nine is a woman-owned company and has also has a “T9 Movers & Makers” program that supports other women-owned businesses, and hosts a “T9 Pitchfest” for women entrepreneurs to network, learn, and pitch their brand or gear.

Other available versions

The Title Nine Limitless Dress also comes in a mini (above-the-knee) version and a cargo midi skirt version. The skirt has more, and more secure, pockets, and can be a great option if you don’t want to mess with the fit of the bust in the Midi Dress.

Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress vs. Cotopaxi Tolima Overall Dress

Cotopaxi Tolima Overall Dress

The Cotopaxi Tolima Overall Dress is the overall winner in our Best Hiking Dresses and Skirts guide. It’s comfortable, functional on the trail with durable materials and plenty of pockets, and easy to style for post-hike activities.

Like the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress, it’s a great option for those who prioritize style, comfort, and durability. This dress is shorter than the Limitless Midi, as it falls above the knee, and is lighter and more comfortable for higher-intensity hiking. The Tolima Overall Dress is also likely to fit more people better since you don’t have to worry about bust size (however, that does mean you have to BYOB—bring your own bra.)

If you’re looking for a dress better suited for hiking, choose the Cotopaxi Tolima Overall Dress; if you’re looking for something more casual for travel and everyday wear or want more modest leg coverage, choose the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress.

Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress vs. Title Nine Danvers Midi Dress

The Title Nine Danvers Midi Dress is a looser-fitting midi dress that uses Supa Cotton fabric, making it more suited for casual wear and traveling than activewear.

If you want a travel dress that is purely for travel days, commuting, walking around the city, and other casual occasions, this may be a better choice.

This may also be a better option for those who have sizing issues with the Limitless Midi's fitted top.

The Limitless Midi Dress would be for those whose travels may also include light hiking or a lot more walking.

Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress vs. Royal Robbins Spotless Evolution Tank Dress

Royal Robbins Spotless Evolution Tank Dress

The Royal Robbins Spotless Evolution Tank Dress is our pick for Best Hiking Dress for Travel because of its lightweight, breathable construction, range of movement, packability, and easy transition from trail to town.

Like the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress, the Spotless Evolution Tank Dress has a built-in shelf bra (and has similar sizing issues for bigger busts). It’s a knee-length dress with no fabric separation between the top and skirt, so it has a more unified look and feel than the Limitless Midi. It also packs down smaller and feels lighter and more breathable while hiking.

Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress vs. Youer Treasure Dress

Youer Treasure Dress

The Youer Treasure Dress is our pick for Best Hiking Dress for Cold Weather because of its cozy fleece material. The Treasure Dress is a cute, comfortable, above-the-knee option for those seeking a stylish, cold-weather travel dress that can handle some adventure as well. Like Title Nine, Youer is a small woman-owned company.

The Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress and Youer Treasure Dress cover similar ground (travel, casual wear, light hiking) for different seasons/temperatures.

Should I buy the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress?

Wearing the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress indoors with brick walls and stairs in the background

Buy if:

  • You want one dress that moves between light trail use, travel days, and casual wear without changing

  • You have a small to medium bust and find shelf bra support adequate for low-to-moderate activity

  • You like the look of a woven skirt but want some athletic performance in the top half

  • You prefer a cinchable hem option for active moments rather than a standard straight hem

Skip if:

  • You have a larger bust and need structured support—the shelf bra in the Limitless runs small, and reviewers with larger busts consistently note it falls short

  • You want a dress purpose-built for hiking—the woven skirt is breezy but heavier than most hiking dresses and not as technical

  • You fall between sizes—the dress runs small in the bust, and a size up may feel loose through the hips and skirt, plus the torso length of the top may not sit quite right for everyone

FAQs

Wearing the Title Nine Limitless Midi Dress in the stairwell while testing on the stairs
  • It runs true to size, though many customer reviewers note it runs small in the bust. If you are between sizes or have a larger bust, sizing up is worth considering, though note that going up a size may result in a looser fit through the hips and skirt. However, for me, the shelf bra was a little looser than I preferred, and I may have benefited from sizing down. In short, you’ll want to try the dress on to see. Title Nine also has a 60-day return policy.

  • The dress has a shelf bra, not a structured bra. I wear an A-cup bra and typically don’t need much support, so the Limitless Midi Dress’ shelf bra worked just fine for me for low and moderate activity (e.g., walking and light hiking). However, those with larger busts may have fit and sizing issues with the built-in bra, or may want to wear a bra underneath.

  • You can wear this dress for light hiking, but I wouldn’t recommend it for intense, high-output activities or long hikes. The fitted top is sporty and well-suited for hiking, but the flowy skirt is heavier than performance hiking dresses and may feel cumbersome on longer, more intense hikes, especially with lots of climbing.

  • The Limitless Midi Dress is a great option for travel in that it’s versatile, stylish, and comfortable. It’s not the most lightweight and packable if space is tight, and you’ll want to be able to hang it after it’s been packed away since it can wrinkle easily. But if space is not an issue, or you plan on wearing this on travel days, this is a great option.

  • The shelf bra in the Limitless Midi runs loose on smaller busts and small for larger busts — reviewers with larger busts consistently note it falls short without an additional bra underneath. If you're a C cup or above, plan to wear a bra you trust under the dress, and consider sizing up.
