This month's Trends
This month is all about taking advantage of a warm winter, whether you're running, hiking, or getting outside with your dog. While we saw some interest in traveling with ski and snowboarding gear (got to get to where the snow is), people seem to be embracing getting outdoors.
With low snow in the West, ski and snowboarding gear isn't as popular as in past years. The Dakine Fall Line bags and Evo Deluxe bags remain popular with Treeline Review readers, though not as much as in past winters due to the low snow year. They are winners in our Best Ski Travel Bags and Best Snowboard Travel Bag guides and help protect your investment in ski gear from dents, bangs, dings, and cracks during air travel and road trips.
You've decided to go running and hiking instead. No snow doesn't mean you're staying indoors this winter. Instead, we see winter gloves and winter hiking boots trending because you want to get moving, but it's still cold outside.
You're hiking early this year–and not with insulated boots necessarily. The Salomon X Ultra 5 hiking boots and hiking shoes are trending as well as the Merrell Moab 3. We usually see these boots and hiking shoes pick up interest later in the Spring.
You're getting outside with your dog. The warm weather means you want to play with your dog. We see Best Light Up Dog Collars and Best Dog Paw Wax trending and appreciate it. February means less light and it is important your dog is seen. And their paws will appreciate the wax in colder weather, too.
Collagen powder and Protein Powder are trending as you’re investing in your muscles and joints, not just in stuff.
Stay tuned each month for Treeline readers' favorite gear items from the previous month as well as our hot takes on what is trending in the outdoor world.
