In this year-end recap, we’re looking back on what was popular among Treeline Review readers like you in 2025.

We ran the numbers for 2025 and analyzed the trends. Everyone loves looking at trends and at Treeline Review, we’re honest when it comes to telling you what’s hot (and what’s not).

We’ve been tracking availability and pricing of outdoor products for the past 7 years. We noticed that Treeline readers acted differently this year. We saw people grabbing summer and winter items early before prices went up even due to tariffs, especially for electronics.

We also saw a trend towards smaller luxury items like nice socks and underwear and away from bigger items like tents.

We go into details in the section on This Year's Trends below!

This year's Trends: 7 takeaways

This year was all about small luxuries like good socks and underwear, self care in sun protection and hydration, and getting GPS electronics before prices go up more due to tariffs.

1. You grabbed electronics before prices go up even more. From rugged, waterproof cameras to satellite messengers and personal locator beacons, we’ve seen a jump in interest in getting electronic items — especially those with GPS.

2. You know the true benefit of wearing quality socks and underwear. Throughout the year, we saw comfy warm hiking socks and temperature-regulating merino sports bras and women’s hiking underwear trending.

3. Hydrating is one thing you do very well. From good-tasting electrolytes to insulated tumblers to keep your drinks cold and hiking water bottles, running soft flasks, and bike water bottles, you are doing a great job of bringing water wherever you go.

4. You value getting outdoors with your kids! From child hiking carriers and kids’ Life Jackets, you value getting your kids out there safely. You're know that when you get the right rain gear for kids or the right snow gear for children, they can learn to love being outside.

5. You care for the planet by caring and repairing your gear instead of buying new: We're seeing that trend the most with ski wax and tuning kits and winners from odor-removing sports detergent

6. You love your dogs! From dog life jackets to dog GPS collars and dog shoes and booties, you know it is more fun getting outside when you can bring along the four-legged friends you love.

7. Nothing makes a backpacking or camping trip feel a little more homey than actually good-tasting freeze-dried meals! And knowing some can last 30 years, you like to stock up and start dreaming of future trips.

It was fun to run the numbers on what trended among Treeline readers in 2025! You all are awesome and we're so honored to have you as part of our outdoors community!
